How to set up an international Smartphone Free Childhood WhatsApp group

01. Check if there’s already a group for your country

02. Set up a WhatsApp group, for example “Smartphone Free Childhood France”.

03. You must include the group rules and disclaimer* (see below)

04. Then it’s up to you how you shape and grow your WhatsApp community. You can encourage parents to set up WhatsApp groups in their local area or school. You can create closed communities, just for important announcements. Groups can be linked together using LinkTree or something similar

05. If you wish, you can join the global WhatsApp leaders group to exchange ideas and resources with people around the world

06. Send us your country WhatsApp group link and we’ll publish it on our website so everyone can find you. Keep us posted with your progress and we’ll share your stories from the SFC global community far and wide

*Group Rules and Disclaimer (must be included on international WhatsApp group bios)

Welcome to Smartphone Free Childhood! This group is a place of community and solidarity for parents who want to delay giving our kids smartphones. We know it can be a divisive issue, and we're not judging anyone who's given their child a smartphone – we’ve all been put in an impossible situation by the tech companies and we need to come together to show the world that something needs to be done. These groups aim to provide a supportive environment where members can exchange ideas, resources, and strategies to foster healthy relationships with technology in their communities.
